Red Mountain Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course in Kathu, built on the dramatic terrain of a former tin mine and designed by Jonathan Morrow, who spent three years shaping the layout before it opened in 2007. Measuring close to 7,000 yards from the pro tees, the course is widely regarded as the most visually striking — and most challenging — in Phuket, weaving through towering red laterite cliffs, flooded canyons, and dense jungle with dramatic elevation changes throughout. Bermuda hybrid greens and Seashore Paspalum fairways keep conditions fast and true, and golf carts are compulsory given the terrain. The signature hole is the par-3 17th, a spectacular 169-yard shot with a 50-metre drop from an elevated tee to a green framed by red cliffs and a deep ravine — regularly rated among the most dramatic par-3s in Thailand.
